Our mission

Through dialogue between all the key stakeholders (among which the Municipal Council of Cascais, the Government and the promoters Alves Ribeiro and St. Julian's Association), we want to:

  • Preserve a centennial wood and its biodiversity

  • Safeguard the quality of life and the unique character of Carcavelos

  • Protect the historical heritage for the future generations

  • Protect the beach and its sand extension

  • Keep the quality of surf

  • Enhance the value of a green site that is key in minimising the threat of increasing temperatures

To achieve this we defend the creation of an urban park semi-natural, which will include a museum and an interpretative centre to gather all the history related with the remaining structures from the submarine cable company, all with sustainable infrastructures.
