On 22 April, the parents of students at St. Julian's School received a letter from SOS and Alvorada da Floresta. The letter was hand-delivered first thing in the morning at the school entrance by a group of volunteers for the cause.
In addition to the numerous adverse environmental effects that this megalomaniac urban project threatens to produce around St Julian's, two of the aspects we highlighted were:
1. The expansion and modernisation of the school could be compatible with the Quinta dos Ingleses
rehabilitated as an Urban Nature Park.
2. Being surrounded by tall buildings would devalue the school, while being immersed in nature in a natural park would increase its value and attractiveness.
