CMC remains silent over SOS QI billboards
Updated: 7 hours ago
Five days of silence have passed, five days without answers, five days during which the billboards that SOS Quinta dos Ingleses put up on the coastal road (Marginal) and around Quinta dos Ingleses have not been replaced.
On 16 October, we received several reports regarding the removal of the panels and their respective metal structures—information indicating the presence of the Municipal Police and vans from Cascais Municipal Council (CMC).
When questioned about this illegal intervention, the CMC remained silent, maintaining the same stance it has shown over the years whenever we have attempted to engage in dialogue with an authority that calls itself the 'Capital of Democracy', and whose mayor, Piteira Lopes, claims to be open to dialogue with everyone.
Material belonging to a company contracted by our association—whose legitimacy to use these means to protest is indisputable—was stolen, and those responsible must be held accountable. We are therefore awaiting action from the various competent authorities to whom we have reported the incident.
