Important clarification on news release

On 9 October 2024, Agência Lusa published the position that SOS Quinta dos Ingleses had taken following the CMC's disclosure of the Public Prosecutor's decision to close an exhibition presented on 7 April 2014 (that is, ten and a half years later!) by the association SOS Save the Surf, in the context of the public discussion of the Quinta dos Ingleses Detailed Plan.

The fact that the Public Prosecutor's Office has shelved an exposé has no direct impact on the injunction or the ongoing lawsuit, nor does the judgment made by the public prosecutor determine the direction of the judge's decision on the lawsuit and the injunction.

Therefore, even though the CMC was quick to welcome the filing of this brief, the essentials remain the same: it is only the judge in the case brought by SOS Quinta dos Ingleses who will decide on the legality of the license and the works can only be resumed if and when a judgment is handed down rejecting the proposed precautionary measure. We would like to take this opportunity to inform you that the decision on the injunction should not be handed down before the end of this year, and we remain convinced that it is well-founded, which could keep the works at a standstill for an indefinite period.
