SOS QI files an injunction

The developer Alves Ribeiro S.A. fenced off the entire perimeter of the Quinta in May and has since started to build a car parking area and an urban park of around 6 hectares. This is the first step towards the Quinta becoming a construction site during the next 10 years - and causing the ecocide that we have been fighting against.

Faced with this scenario, SOS Quinta dos Ingleses filed an injunction on June 6th. On June 11th, the judge ordered the immediate suspension of the works and summoned Cascais City Council, Alves Ribeiro, and St. Julian's School to contest. The works are, therefore, prohibited until the precautionary measure is decided.

However, reports and videos showing works being carried out contravening the court order have been sent to us. This led us to inform the judge of the situation and ask for the decision to be complied with immediately.

Regarding the Bairro da Torre lawsuit (a project which, along with the Hilton site and the Quinta dos Ingleses project, puts the Carcavelos coastline and beach at risk), we have discovered new elements that underscore the illegality of the license.
