PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION FOR PARENTS AND CHILDREN

“A GAZE TO LOVE QUINTA DOS INGLESES”

The Association SOS Quinta dos Ingleses is launching a photography competition between June 21st and July 10th 2023, where parents and their children can participate. Our aim is to raise awareness to the environmental importance of the Quinta as a natural habitat for various species of plants and animals, as well as its vital connection to the Carcavelos beach. The competition will have as theme the biodiversity (animal and plant species) of the Quinta dos Ingleses.

The prize is a surf lesson for the two participants of the winning team. The lesson will take place in Carcavelos beach and will be provided by surf instructor Pipa (Filipa Leandro), in collaboration with Junior Surf World Champion Kika (Francisca Veselko).

Pipa and her daughter Kika are one of the Carcavelos families fighting for the preservation of the Quinta dos Ingleses, so that it can become a semi-naturalized urban park that can benefit all of us and be enjoyed by everybody.

If you have never walked in Quinta dos Ingleses, have a look at the main trail here or explore the map.

LET'S TRAIL QUINTA DOS INGLESES

Quinta dos Ingleses, just a few steps away from the centre of Carcavelos, is the perfect place to take a walk at the end of the day or during the weekend. There you can relax and enjoy nature. Have a go, on your own, with your dog or with a group of friends. Find a walking path here: https://pt.wikiloc.com/trilhas-caminhada/quinta-dos-ingleses-136193041

GROUP WALK AT QUINTA DOS INGLESES

(NEXT WALK: JUNE 23TH AT 6.30PM)

Following the request of one of our associates, two volunteers of SOS Quinta dos Ingleses Association made a guided group tour of the Quinta. The aim was to show and gather in this wonderful natural and historic space. This will be the first of many such group walks. We intend to make this a regular walk every two weeks, at 18.30, the next one on Friday 23th June, to encourage people to join together in the forest and find a new sense of belonging. For more details, please send private message or an email to sosquintaingleses@gmail.com.
