On 16 July, the draft resolutions proposed by the PAN, Livre, Bloco and Chega parties regarding Quinta dos Ingleses were all rejected in a vote in the Portuguese Parliament.
Although four different parties defended projects that, in essence, all called for the protection of that green space, when it came time to vote, the majority ended up rejecting proposals that were not their own, voting against or abstaining.
For our part, SOS Quinta dos Ingleses remains firm in its convictions. This result was not in vain and only confirms that in the next elections, a change is needed in the Cascais local authority, enabling the reversal of the process and the fundamental protection and regeneration of the natural and historical heritage of Quinta dos Ingleses and Carcavelos beach.
