REOT - Thank you for participating in the public consultation

Thank you to everyone who took part in the public consultation on the REOT!

According to the notifications we have received, there were at least 140 submissions, demonstrating the civic awareness and commitment of all those who support us in defending the environment and quality of life in Cascais and, in particular (as always), in the fight to protect Quinta dos Ingleses.

The REOT presented by the Cascais Municipal Council, while clearly showing how well-founded our criticisms of the current administration’s policies have been, also makes it clear that this administration intends to continue along the same path, further worsening the environmental situation and resorting to targeted amendments/revocations of provisions in the 2015 Municipal Master Plan (PDM) in order to remove the few restrictions still contained in the current plan. Instead of promoting a genuine revision of the PDM (which should take place every 10 years) in line with the principles of sustainability and environmental protection, the proposals contained in the REOT are designed to allow for more construction.

The fight against these changes will therefore be one of the main areas of action for SOS Quinta dos Ingleses in the coming months. As always, we are counting on your support!
