Tertulia with senior citizens from Carcavelos. — Nature, poetry and Carcavelos

A lively, democratic, and plural community sits at a table so its members can reflect, dialogue, and exchange ideas. This is precisely what we did at the gathering on 21 July, bringing together the seniors of Carcavelos, SOS Quinta dos Ingleses, and everyone else who wanted to join in at Jardim Morais.

The reading of the Seniors' Manifesto was the starting point for the dialogue.

  • Why is the farm important to the community?

  • What are the impacts of the possible destruction of the forest as we know it in this parish?

  • Should we resign ourselves to whatever the local authority decides about the fate of Carcavelos Sul?

  • To what extent are our municipality's greatest values of politics and the environment absent/present?

  • Why is it essential to maintain hope for the rescue of the forest and for the future?

These were some of the many questions raised.

There was also the opportunity to listen to poetry recitals about nature.

A source of inspiration to keep the flame of this cause, dialogue, and citizenship alive in Cascais.
