Like Cascais, the municipality of Oeiras is experiencing a major imbalance between the population's environmental and quality-of-life needs and the disproportionate urban development plans propagated by the respective municipalities as solutions and projects that will benefit the municipalities. Pollution, traffic, gentrification, lack of mobility, and social facilities are all consequences that will affect the people of today and tomorrow in these neighboring municipalities.
Pedro Jordão, one of the founders and vice-presidents of ONGA SOS Quinta dos Ingleses, accepted RTP1's invitation to comment on the “Prova dos Factos” report on 1 November. The report exposed planning that will definitively transform the unique characteristics of two of the country's most “desirable” municipalities.
